Hi, nice to meet you. I’m Lauri

It all begins with our story.

My husband and I haven’t travelled much. Our time was spent raising our son and most vacations were within a few hours drive to a cottage of visits with family.

Then a miracle happened (well, not so much a miracle as time passed 😂 ) and our son grew up and needed us less and less. Our vacations could be more adventurous. We first set out on a family trip to New York City (not a cruise, I know) and I got the travel bug. I realized just how much I want to see places and do things.

Living in Canada, our next plan was to book a sun vacation to get away from the winter deep freeze. We decided to try a cruise. That’s it! It only took one cruise and we were hooked.

have been told, I like to talk a lot and this is true. I may like the sound of my own voice quite a bit but, this should be considered a strength for blogging and creating YouTube videos. There is an endless amount of self-promotion involved in this chosen profession and confidence is necessary. Humility is not really an option.

Of course, we are new to cruising so we are learning as we go. Stick with our journey to see what we learn, what we do right, what (inevitable) mistakes we make and what we would do differently. Hopefully our story helps you to find the best way to cruise for you!

We may even see you wherever we end up cruising next!

Oh yeah, hopefully our selfie game will improve too!I

My husband may say that I started this blog in hopes to stay in my pyjamas all day when we are home. The truth is that I do work from my home studio (yes, sometimes in my pyjamas). Our miniature Schnauzer, Pepper sleeps all day in her bed beside me to keep me company.

When I’m not cruising…

You will generally find me in my home studio or parked in front of my laptop waiting and editing. I have to get up a few times a day and walk the dog or make tea just to convince my Apple Watch that I am not clinically dead. (It knows, it takes my heart rate). When I manage to dislodge myself from my chair and spend time away from the studio, you will find me doing some of these things (not at the same time).

You may also notice that most of these can be done travelling, waiting for planes and on cruise ships 😉

  • Calligraphy and Hand Lettering (I have a healthy collection of pens, markers and inks that may or may not look like an obsession)

  • Knitting (I love to make beautiful things with beautiful yarn)

  • Running (proudly having completed a marathon and several half marathons… for fun!)

  • Gardening (maybe best considered a struggle for supremacy with the perennials in our back yard)

  • Reading. Anything. I love to read.

  • Taking long walks (often ending in town for a coffee with my husband)

  • Photography (usually taking pictures on the above walks)

What’s happening over on Instagram?

Do you want to talk?

It’s awesome that you’ve scrolled down this far and learned all about me. I really like you too.

I think we should have a chat if you have questions or you’d like to work together.

Listen, I’d like to but I can’t write my email down here. I did that once and got a lot of spam emails offering some very shocking things. Please fill out this form so I know you are a real person who wants help with cruising or collabs.
